Magnetic Product Description

With Neodymium magnetic core, this product has a strong pull force of 18kg, and a rubber coating that protects delicate surface areas as well. This male thread neodymium pot has a diameter of 66mm, a 8mm thickness, 15mm high M8 male threaded and external boss. The product is identified by AMF Part Number RCND66M.

Uses for our Male Thread Neodymium Pots with Rubber Casing:

This robust holding device contains a circular arrangement of six strong Neodymium disc magnets with a singular steel cap that increases its overall holding strength at the base. The steel cap also contains the Male Thread attachment point that allows the device to be fixed to another material or piece of equipment with a nut and washer. The device is rubber coated so the contact area cannot damage the surface it attaches to, which helps to protect glass panels and paint finishes on vehicles and equipment from dents and scratches that would otherwise become rusty, weaker and unattractive. This handy device makes it possible to attach accessories and equipment to vehicles or any other metal surface magnetically. Equipment such as rearview mirrors, trailer lights, sun shades, awnings and the like can be fitted to steel panels and removed without damaging the paint or penetrating the steel body. Magnetic attachment is simple, reliable and convenient and operates in a non-invasive way that allows important equipment or even decorative items to be attached, removed or replaced quickly. These rubber coated holding magnets from AMF protect the paint on metal surfaces from scratching and chipping.

Beyond Expectations!

I bought a pair of these after an email enquiry was answered on the same day I enquired. Wanted to do a temporary non permanent (And apparently illegal!) magnetic car roof mount for a Kings LED light bar, for the very infrequent times I use my car at night in rural areas. The threads fit the light bar mounts perfectly, and I can testify the light bar did not move even a fraction of a millimetre at speeds up to 110kmh, for up to 6 hours, rain included, on about six trips so far! Amazing magnets that grip like a hungry child holding a cookie. The photo attached is how I mount the light. Quick release power cord hidden behind the visor, so if questions are asked, it’s a three second job to remove the light, (With a LOT of leverage. Those magnets HOLD!) disconnect, and throw on the floor. The hardest part is levering the magnets off the roof. It takes both hands to tip the light bar back to break the magnets hold. Will be buying all my magnet needs from AMF, thanks to the wonderful customer service, and brilliant products.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
