Neodymium Block Magnet - 25mm x 25mm x 5mm

Magnetic Product Description:

This magnet has a length and width of 25mm with a height of 5mms. It has a magnetic flux of 2132 Gauss and a pull force of 10.3 kilos against 5mm mild steel. It uses the AMF magnet part number 22012.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

These permanent neodymium magnets are like having a chocolate bar sized piece of renewable energy you can carry in your pocket. A magnet can reproduce its allotted tasks again and again, as if for the first time, with no spoiling penalty to the components affected or materials fastened in this way.

These magnets will instinctively jump at material they are attracted to, and each other. They need to be treated with caution. Designers and tradespeople are able to choose an individual magnet’s predictable instinct to attract or repel for specific purposes.

Intuitive release at a pre-determined quit force, or quit the grip protocol, makes for products and devices that are much more calibrated or aligned, intuitive to the needs of end users. Clients want devices that are easy to service, clean and dissemble for transportation.

Magnets do well with all materials. However it is magnets compatibility of bonding plastics to plastics, and plastics to traditional construction fabrics like timber, steel, masonry, glass and ceramics that really takes the cake.

Magnets bond or fasten without penetrating materials. Nails, pins, rivets, screws and bolts pierce. Glues deface plastics when unfastened. Penetrating plastics weakens or fatigues plastics at point of entry, creates moisture ingress and is counter to the uniformity or monolithic nature of plastic materials.

Ever popular this magnet has many uses and is used by boat and rowing manufacturers, industrial part suppliers, shopfitters, material handling companies and surprisingly a dental centre and is regularly purchased by a V8 race engineering firm.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
