Neodymium Cylinder Magnet - 10mm x 12mm

Magnetic Product Description:

This rare earth cylinder magnet has a diameter of 10mm and a height of 12mm. It has a flux reading of 5815 Gauss and a pull force of 3.8 kilos against 3-5 mm mild steel. Identified by part number 21025.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

An extremely popular magnet across a range of industries including automotive, manufacturing and architectural design.

Knife suppliers selling for the home and commercial uses often also supply a range of kitchen ware equipment. As well as displaying their knives in the showroom with magnets, they can advise on the use of magnets and magnetism in order to arrange kitchen hardware in the home or commercial kitchen in a hygienic and orderly manner.

Engaged as point of sale displays, magnets, including these neodymium cylinder 10mmx12mm magnets, offer a fastening system that says, ‘hold me’ to potential customers. This is important with knives. The weight and feel of different knives varies almost as much as the different type of hands that hold them.

Moving along a wide range of knives, potential customers are able to simply take the knife from its magnetic suspension in the display and test it for comfort. This tactile engagement allows the merchant to address any objections the customer may have. The merchant can lift another knife from nearby as an alternative for comparison, while the customer re-engages the initial knife simply and safely.

Magnetic engagement not only protects the blade from unintended damage or shop soiling by keeping it elevated at all times, magnetic engagement presents each knife in its own suspended uncluttered space. This tactile and simple engagement with the product at a predictable and known pull force encourages impulse purchase by highlighting the availability of the product.

For safe storage in the kitchen at home, knives can be stored up and out of the reach of children. For an easy find, and simple clean and re-engagement when the chopping is done, magnetic suspension is without peer. Keeping sharp knives out of draws and contacts with other items buried in dishwashing water increases the durability of the cutting blade and reduces the risk of cuts to the user.

A Great Attraction

For the whole of last term I was looking for a source of strong magnets at an affordable price to use in electricity experiments with a couple of students. I have now found that source and am looking forward firstly, to completing the experiments that I've already planned and secondly, being able to access other magnets as I need them readily.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
