Neodymium Cylinder Magnet - 1.58mm x 1.58mm | N52

Magnetic Product Description:

This cylindrical Rare Earth magnet has equal height and diameter dimensions of 1.58mm. Magnetic Flux measures 6610.23 Gauss, It has a pull force of 54 grams and a nickel-based outer coating that improves durability. This magnet is manufactured with maximum strength N52 Grade Neodymium.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

This minute cylinder magnet is manufactured with the highest, and therefore strongest, N52 Grade Neodymium material. Cylindrical shapes are most suited to applications where they can be embedded into small drilled holes in other materials to create a point of magnetic attachment. This bond can be created using either a metallic surface or another magnet with a pole arranged in an opposing direction. Cylinder magnets also play an important role in sensitive measuring devices where their shape provides a unique type of field that is both deep and concentrated. Meters and gauges that control large scale industrial processes contain sensitive cylinder magnets for detection and measuring purposes. Permanent Neodymium magnets provide the accuracy and reliability that these essential devices require to operate effectively over long periods.

Great response to query regarding product performance

The website shared specifications regarding this product which I suspected were probably inaccurate, once I had trialled the magnet. An email querying where the discrepancy arose was promptly dealt with by Azura and the specs have since been updated. Cost of the purchase was refunded and although these particular magnets didn't fit the purpose, I have no hesitation purchasing something else from AMF. Thanks for the great customer service!

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
