AMF Magnetics' Packaging Sustainability Strategy & Action Plan
A large amount of plastic waste is generated by the eCommerce industry. Our goal is to reduce our contribution to this and improve recyclability as much as possible.
This goal is to be achieved via the following actions:
- Thoughtful packaging design decisions. When purchasing packaging to attempt to purchase recyclable or biodegradable products. Cardboard and paper products are easily broken down and tend to have chemical compounds removed so a focus on these products is preferable.
- Ensuring all employees are aware of our commitment and of how to contribute to our commitment. Our warehouse team that is responsible for the packaging of products dispatched to our eCommerce customers is to focus on recyclable product preferences. Packaging which protects our products during shipment from our suppliers is to be reused where possible and not discarded.
- Packaging purchased to carry labels informing customers that the packaging is recyclable. As we often do not notice that something is compostable, it ends up in land fill. Informing customers that packaging is recyclable and that there are options for communal compost sites, drop off commercial composting and kerbside collection.
- To ensure we recycle our business waste in rubbish bins thoughtfully by establishing separate bins for cardboard, to deliver used coffee pod waste to recycling stations and deliver used toner cartridges to recycling stations.
