Ferrite Cylinder Magnets

Ferrite (Ceramic) Cylinder Magnets, are also known as Rod magnets due to their shape. AMF Magnetics offers Ferrite Cylinders in varying shapes, sizes and pull forces. Our range also includes Ferrite Beads.

Ferrite ceramic magnetic material has the widest magnetic field of all permanent magnets. Ferrite Magnetic materials possess good resistance to corrosion and can be used in high temperatures, although they are rather brittle. Our Cylinder Magnets are preferred over Neodymium Cylinder Magnets when looking for a cost effective alternative with good demagnetization resistance.

Ferrite Cylinder Magnets are used in motors, water conditioning and reed switches. Ceramic Ferrite Magnets suppress high frequency noise in electronic circuits. This makes them ideal for speakers and car audio systems. Our Ferrite Magnetic Beads are ideal for use in crafts and magnetic therapies.

FAQ

What are Ferrite Cylinder Magnets used for?
Ferrite cylinder magnets are commonly used in motors, sensors, loudspeakers, educational kits and for some holding applications. The elongated shape of Ferrite cylinder magnets provides a concentrated magnetic field along the axis, making them ideal for insertion into drilled holes, magnetic assemblies and situations where directional magnetic force is needed.

What are the advantages of Ferrite Cylinder Magnets?
Ferrite (ceramic) magnets offer several key benefits. They are inexpensive and widely available, they have a high resistance to corrosion, so no coating is required, and they deliver good performance in temperatures up to 250°C. Ferrite cylinder magnets also have excellent long-term magnetic stability, and these properties make them a reliable choice for industrial, commercial and educational uses.

Are Ferrite Cylinder Magnets strong?
While Ferrite magnets are not as powerful as rare earth magnets like Neodymium, they provide adequate strength for many everyday applications. Their affordable price, durability and resistance to demagnetisation make them suitable for tasks where ultra-high strength is not required.
