Step 1: Prep Like a Pro
Before we get to the fun part, some groundwork is in order.
Measure Twice, Cut Once: Break out your trusty measuring tape and size up your windows. Use these measurements to cut your flyscreen sheet to an approximate size. Don’t stress about precision - we’ll trim it down to perfection later.
Sparkling Clean Frames: A clean surface is a happy surface! Use isopropyl alcohol or a similar cleaner to wipe away dirt, dust and grease from your window frames. Give it a moment to dry completely - you want the magnetic tape to stick like glue (literally).
Step 2: Let’s Get Sticky 👍
Now, the real magic begins:
Lay Down Magnetic Tape Part B:
Cut four lengths of Part B (the grooved brown tape) to fit the edges of your window frame. Peel off the adhesive backing and carefully stick it onto the frame. Pro tip: Trim the ends neatly for flawless corners.
Add Magnetic Tape Part A:
Cut matching lengths of Part A (the smooth white tape) and attach it to Part B. Like long-lost lovers, these tapes magnetically click together. Trim any excess for picture-perfect alignment.
Flyscreen Time!
Peel the adhesive backing off Part A. Hold your flyscreen up and align it with the top of your window frame. Gently press it onto the adhesive backing, working your way around all edges. Trim away any extra flyscreen for a clean finish.
Optional, but highly recommended: For extra durability, apply a thin layer of epoxy glue where the flyscreen overlaps with the magnetic tape. It’ll hold everything in place, even during windy days.
