Magnets to Detect Broken Nails in Wood

Q: I need a magnet to detect broken nails or similar within wood. What magnet would you suggest for this?

We have a magnetic stud finder which should do the job. This product is specifically designed to find studs or metal wall plates within walls, but can easily be repurposed for your desired application.  Another option might be using a neodymium cylinder magnet, the 22mm x 25.4mm size would be suggested for your specific purpose.
