Home - Frequently Asked Questions - Magnetic Sheeting - What is the difference between 0.4mm, 0.6mm and 0.8mm thick sheeting?

What is the difference between 0.4mm, 0.6mm and 0.8mm thick sheeting?

The strength of the magnet is dependent on the amount of magnet material present, as such our range of sheeting comes in various thicknesses including 0.4mm, 0.6mm and 0.8mm. Depending on the hold you need for your application you may choose between these thicknesses.

Generally speaking we find the 0.4mm thickness is most appropriate for people printing directly onto the magnetic material, where that magnet is not required to hold any additional weight other that itself.

The 0.6mm thickness is commonly used for attaching to printed paper and card advertising materials.

The 0.8mm thickness is the most appropriate thickness for vehicles as it can provide a hold strong enough to withstand movement and wind forces.
