Magnetic Product Description:

This neodymium magnetic block has a length of 38.1mm, width of 6.35mm and a height of 6.35mm. It has a pull force of 8.82 kilos. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number B-W6.35H6.35L38.1-N52.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

This N52 Grade Neodymium block has compact dimensions but the high-grade Neodymium magnetic material inside makes it an extremely powerful magnet. This fantastic power to weight ratio is the key characteristic of Neodymium magnets and has resulted in their revolutionary impact on product design and manufacturing since their development in the 1980s. In the decades since they have been a critical factor in modern technological advancements around the world.
Consumer products have become lighter and smaller in recent times, largely due to the stronger magnetic fields produced by these compact and lightweight permanent magnets. Electronic equipment across almost every industry has displayed improved capabilities while also enjoying reductions in scale due to the adoption of powerful Neodymium magnetic products.
Neodymium Block magnets also serve in more analog or mechanical functions in equipment designed for holding and securing metal items. Magnetic lifters, sweepers and tool holders all utilise permanent rare earth block magnets to create a broad and reliable hold.

This Neodymium block has unusual measurements when viewed in metric terms however when considered in Imperial dimensions they have much more relevance. With a length of 1.5 inches, a height and width of a quarter-inch, these blocks are ideal for use within US or UK designed products or systems.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
