Neodymium Disc Magnet - 10mm x 5mm | N52

Magnetic Product Description:

This rare earth disc has a diameter of 10mm and a height of 5mm. It has a pull force of 3.7kg. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number 20048A.

Uses for our rare earth disc magnets:

Neodymium Discs, like this one, with an N52 grade magnetisation, are ideal for applications where high magnetic strength is required within a small or restricted space. Examples of this include security and alarm systems, telecommunications equipment, or anything else that is sensor-based and needs a high degree of precision and accuracy. The diameter is 10mm and the height is 5mm with an impressive pull force of 3.7kg! This pull force relative to the magnet’s small size is due to the high-grade N52 material used in the manufacturing process. Other Neodymium magnets of the same size with a lesser grade would have lesser holding ability. The versatility of this product means they are used in a wide variety of applications that encompasses the engineering and construction industries, as well as the product design and retail display sectors.

Magnets for kitchen drawers

Brilliant magnets. Our soft close drawer mechanisms are failing and of course replacements are not available. So its basically a new kitchen or remove the soft close cartridges from the drawer runners and install magnets in the edge of the cabinets and back of the drawer fronts to achieve a positive close. These magnets are the perfect size and strength. You need to use brad point bits with positive depth stops for accuracy and then glue the magnets into the recessed holes with 5 minute epoxy.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
