Neodymium Disc Magnet - 2mm x 1mm | N48

Magnetic Product Description:

This neodymium disc has a diameter of 2mm and a height of 1mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 5022 Gauss and a pull force of  63 grams. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number D-D2H1-N48.

Uses for our 2x1mm rare earth disc magnets:

Small Neodymium disc-shaped magnets like these tiny 2x1 mm magnets are suitable for applications where space is restricted or a precise level of magnetic force is appropriate for the operation of a device or piece of technical equipment. The low height dimension associated with disc-shaped magnets enables product designs with slimmer and sleeker features. Large scale manufacturers of all manner of products include these small yet powerful magnets in the design of their products. Innovative products in the world of electronics and communications utilise magnets and their properties to control and enhance the way their products perform and operate.

Neodymium discs have excellent strength to size ratios and this helps keep products that integrate them into their operation to be physically smaller in size, yet highly functional. The influential or attractive fields of Permanent Magnets play an ever-growing role in a vast range of modern technologies, from mobile phones to modern automobiles, including electric and hybrid vehicles.

The N48 Grade magnetic material used in this magnet is among the highest available and increases the field intensity of this magnet to that of a magnet with larger dimensions.

AMF Magnetics

Hi Josch,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for this fantastic 5 star review!

We're thrilled to hear these 2mm x 1mm N48 neodymium disc magnets are the perfect size for your Warhammer models! What a brilliant application for creating detachable arms, that's such a clever way to add modularity to your miniatures. The compact dimensions of these tiny but powerful magnets make them ideal for model customisation without adding bulk or interfering with the aesthetic.

The N48 grade neodymium provides excellent holding strength even at this small size, so your arms should stay securely attached during gaming while still allowing for easy swapping when needed.

Thank you for choosing AMF Magnetics for your hobby and modelling needs!

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
