Product Description

This neodymium magnetic disc has a diameter of 50mm and a height of 3mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 721 Gauss and a pull force of 9.33kilos. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number D-D50H3-N35.

Uses for our  Neodymium Magnetic Discs:

Mini magnets like this little Neo disc can be affixed to non-metallic items with glue, allowing these items to in turn be attached to a metal surface. Likewise the magnets can be attached to two corresponding items with the correct poles aligned to create a magnetic bonding point.

This type of bond is useful for countless applications. Home users and those customers in the design industry use them to craft scale models and assemble projects for example. The magnetic bond is a quick and easy way to attach multiple elements and it also allows for fast deconstruction when the item is no longer in use.
Magnetic hold can be both temporary and permanent. The nature of a magnetic hold means there is no need for mechanical parts that can fail over time. However it also allows for the convenience of moving or removing the magnets from the surface they have been applied to when only a temporary hold is desirable.
Magnets attach to a metal substrate without penetrating or damaging the surfaces they have been adhered to. The beauty of Neodymium magnetic material is that it provides powerful magnetic pull force from a relatively small item. This characteristic makes them an asset for industries that develop state of the art technologies which continuously evolve, like car manufacturers, who list weight reduction as a critical requirement in product performance.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
