This Neodymium Pot Magnet with Internal Thread is a powerful magnetic mounting solution designed for heavy-duty holding, securing, lifting, and retrieval applications. Measuring 48mm in diameter and 10mm in height, this rare earth pot magnet features an M8 female threaded mounting hole and delivers an impressive 80kg pull force when in direct contact with a thick, clean steel surface.
Unlike a standard neodymium magnet, this pot magnet is housed within a precision-engineered mild steel cup. The steel casing protects the magnet from impact while concentrating the magnetic field onto the working face, significantly increasing holding strength and improving durability in demanding industrial environments.
The M8 internal thread provides a versatile mounting point for a wide range of accessories including eye bolts, threaded hooks, threaded rods, lifting points, handles, and custom fixtures. This allows the magnet to be easily incorporated into magnetic mounting systems, retrieval tools, hanging assemblies, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment.
This product is identified by AMF Magnetics Part Number PMYP-F48D.

Why Choose an Internal Thread Pot Magnet?
The integrated M8 female thread makes this magnet exceptionally versatile. It can be quickly fitted with an eye bolt to create a magnetic retrieval tool for recovering metal objects from difficult-to-access locations or underwater. Alternatively, attaching an M8 threaded hook allows cables, hoses, lighting, banners, or equipment to be suspended from steel beams, machinery, shelving, or other ferrous surfaces without drilling or permanent fixings.
By combining the exceptional strength of a rare earth neodymium magnet with the durability of a steel pot housing, this magnetic assembly provides outstanding performance for engineering, manufacturing, construction, automotive, warehousing, maintenance, marine, and DIY applications where a secure, reusable magnetic fixing solution is required.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
