Male Thread Neodymium Pot Magnet - Diameter 10mm x 12mm

Magnetic Product Description:

This Rare Earth male threaded pot magnet has a diameter of 10mm, a total height of 12mm and a magnet housing thickness of 5mm. It has a M3 thread with an external boss of 7mm. This male threaded magnet has a pull force of 2.2kg and a weight of 3 grams. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number AMFYPC10.

Uses for our Rare Earth male thread pot magnets:

This Holding Pot magnet has a strong Neodymium magnet in a mild steel cap with a protruding male boss. The steel cap serves to protect the inner magnet from damage whilst also enhancing the magnetic field through the working face of the magnet. The field curves around the inside of the cap and is projected from the active face of the magnet whilst reducing the field on the reverse side. This creates an effectively single-sided magnet that is highly desirable in some applications. The male thread can be easily attached to a non-ferrous material using a nut and washer to secure the magnet in position. Likewise, the magnet can be integrated into a larger mechanical apparatus with a female threaded receptacle.

Exactly what I needed to mount my Philips Hue Play Light Bars

I needed a non-permanent way to mount my two Hue Play lights to the back of my gaming monitor - I'd already tried some of those velcro-ish 3M picture mounting strips but the warmth of the lights would destroy the glue after a month or two. There are two M3-threaded attachment points for the lights' removable base AND I discovered there's something conveniently ferromagnetic under part of the plastic monitor casing, so I picked up four of these as an experiment and they're PERFECT.

The thread is an exact match, and with two in each light they're held rock-solidly in place but are still easy to remove or reposition as needed. Problem solved, thanks guys!

Perfect

This order was for the next phase in an engineering experiment, it's application requirements are perfect and as there are several more stages to complete, I will certainly be obtaining my future purchases from AMF.

Thank you team :)

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
