Rare Earth Fridge Magnets

The term Fridge Magnet can be applied to any magnet that can attach to a refrigerator. However, we generally use this term to describe small magnets appropriate for home users. Flexible magnetic sheeting that has printed advertising on one side is the most common type of Fridge Magnet in Australia. Fridge magnets are appreciated by business people who see them as effective and affordable marketing tools. Fridge magnets allow them to get their name, contact details and services noticed by customers.

There are many other types of fridge magnets such as coloured buttons and pin magnets. Paperwork, lists and reminders can all be held in place with our strong fridge magnet range. Coloured magnetic tape is also another great option as a number of different magnetic clips and much more.

Fridge Magnet Product Range

AMF has a range of magnetic Flexible Sheeting that is made from a combination of rubber and Ferrite powder and is highly suitable for printed advertising materials. Flexible refrigerator magnets are easy and inexpensive to produce by commercial printers and usually display printed contact information for local trades and services. Most households receive these fridge magnets in the mail and then use them to attach and hold lightweight items such as school artwork, invitations, photos, calendars or bill notices to their kitchen fridge or other metal white goods.

Flexible magnets are also great for anyone wanting to create their own magnetic invitations or photo fridge magnets. AMF also supplies flexible Tabs and Patch magnets that can also be used to create handy Refrigerator Magnets. These Patch magnets are small pre-cut squares of the same flexible magnetic sheeting material but are supplied with an adhesive backing on each individual patch.

The adhesive-backed patches are sold in 1000-piece packs and are ideal for transforming artwork, photos, calendars or invitations into magnetic displays for the Fridge! Create a magnetic fridge calendar by using one or more self-adhesive tabs to hold and display your favourite calendar magnetically. The AMF pre-cut magnetic patches are sold in several different sizes and thicknesses and are priced accordingly.

Button magnets are one of the most universally recognised refrigerator magnets. They come in two options, with either a Ferrite magnet or a Neodymium magnet. Ferrite magnets are adequate for the vast majority of holding applications and are the type of magnet you would generally find on a souvenir magnet. However, if you are looking for a magnet that is capable of holding a number of items at one time then Neodymium button magnets are the best. Neodymium is the strongest form of permanent magnet available and these colourful button magnets hold impressive power.  Kmart, Bunnings and Officeworks fridge magnets often lack the strength and range that AMF does.

FAQ

What are rare earth fridge magnets made from?
Rare earth fridge magnets are usually made from Neodymium, a type of rare earth metal. These magnets are composed of an alloy of Neodymium, Iron, and Boron (NdFeB), making them much stronger than traditional ferrite or flexible magnets. They are often coated with materials like nickel or epoxy to prevent rust and wear.

Why are rare earth magnets stronger than regular fridge magnets?
Rare earth magnets, especially Neodymium magnets, have a much higher magnetic strength due to their unique crystalline structure and high magnetic energy density. This allows them to hold heavier items with a smaller size compared to standard ceramic or flexible fridge magnets.

Are rare earth fridge magnets safe to use?
Yes, but they should be used with care. Due to their strength, rare earth magnets can snap together forcefully, potentially causing pinched fingers or damage to fragile items. They should be kept away from electronics, pacemakers, and small children, as their strong magnetic field can interfere with devices or pose a swallowing hazard.

What are some of the uses of rare earth fridge magnets?
Rare earth fridge magnets can hold heavier items on metal surfaces because of their powerful magnetic strength. You’ll have no problem holding tools, kitchen utensils, or thick stacks of paper securely on metal surfaces like fridges, filing cabinets or workbenches. Rare earth fridge magnets are also ideal for DIY and craft projects where a strong hold is needed in a compact form. In garages or workshops, you can use rare earth magnets to mount screwdrivers, pliers, or other tools to metal pegboards or toolboxes for easy access and space-saving storage. They’re great for magnetic closures on cabinet doors, drawers, or hidden compartments, especially in small spaces or custom furniture, where a strong and discreet closure is required. In classrooms or laboratories, these magnets are used for demonstrations, magnetic experiments, and mounting displays that require a dependable hold.
