Magnetic Product Description:

This neodymium block magnet is 50mm square with a thickness of 25.4mm. It has a pull force of 102 Kilos against 5 mm mild steel. It has a magnetic flux reading of 4200 and is supplied with a Nickel coating. This product uses the AMF magnet part number 22003A.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

Neodymium magnets are the strongest and most affordable type of permanent magnet. Magnets express qualities valued in the modern world. These qualities can be summarised by an acronym RICI. Renewability. Instinct. Compatibility. Intuition. A magnets ability to renew its task/function, over and over, even after prolonged interruption is the ultimate in renewable energy.

Magnets are compelled to push or pull. It defines what a magnet is. These powerful blocks put the first ‘I’, for instinct, into RICI. They will strike at each other if allowed, and jump at attracted objects.

This never say die instinct to attract or repel is exploited endlessly across almost every industry. Costume jewellery clasps, enablers of electric motors, filtration and screening devices. Magnetic force fields also perform vital roles in advancing breakthroughs in medical research and the field of science dealing with the properties and interactions of matter and energy, physics.

The ‘C’ in RICI represents a magnets compatibility with all materials. This quality has secured the role of magnets in fastening, holding, releasing, repelling and re-holding. Vital in electrical and electronics systems, magnets are compatible with traditional construction materials timber, steel, masonry, glass, ceramics, foam and fabric.

It is magnets emerging relationship with the dominant material of the new world, plastics, however, that has installed magnets as the preferred fastener. A magnets intuitive release, the second ‘I’ in RICI, releasing magnetic grip without penalty of any kind, constitutes masterful fastening and greatly increases a products amenity, serviceability and longevity.

These magnets are popular with engineering firms which manufacture custom magnetic plates and devices. Also used in roadworks, plumbing for the purpose of retrieving metal objects and used in the manufacture of specific oceanic products. Fastening and material handling companies are also regular purchasers of this magnet.

Replacement unit of similar size used in construction rigging to anchor/tether equipment/tools.

We have used this type/size sucessfull in the past to tether our tools and equipment while working at heights. We locate the magnet inside our canvas tool bags and find this very convenient form of sucessfull locating our tools/equipment at various work levels where at times no othet suitable anchor is sucessful. We have been very happy with the sucess that these magnets have provided.

Nice magnets.

The surface measurement was just a little under 4000Gauss but nice uniform distribution. I use these magnets for a small NMR measurement system.

I hope to get some discount in case I decide to take them up in production.

They arrived very fast, good service.

Overall happy customer.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
