Neodymium Cylinder Magnet - 20mm x 20mm | N52H I High Temp. 120°C
Magnetic Product Description:
This popular rare earth cylinder has a diameter of 20mm and a height of 20mm. It is an N52H grade rare earth magnet. It has a magnetic flux reading of 6619 Gauss; a pull force of 20.36 kg. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number 21013.
This is a specialty magnet produced from N52H material lending it resistance to high temperatures and superior magnetic power. Able to withstand temperatures up to 120º Celsius.
Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:
The shared height and width proportions of this strong, circular Neodymium magnet make it able to qualify for both cylinder magnet and disc magnet classifications. These equal dimensions translate into high-strength Disc magnet properties or low-strength Cylinder magnet properties. As with all circular magnets, varying the height dimension results in reduced or increased Neodymium material between the poles and this directly impacts the amount of magnetic power that the magnet can generate. The grade of Neodymium material inside the magnet, being N52H Grade in this case, is another factor to be considered when choosing the right magnet for your requirements. The height dimension of the magnet and N Grade of the Neodymium can be manipulated to produce the exact bond strength required. This can be crucial in high-tech industrial applications where precision is important. Round Neodymium magnets with these broad physical dimensions are often considered to have practical, multi-purpose or universal uses and are able to perform a comprehensive range of holding duties. Keeping a few magnets of this type in your toolbox will help to solve bonding needs and help you perform your workplace duties more easily. A single magnet of this calibre and dimensions can hold weights up to 20kg.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
