Neodymium Disc Magnet - 20mm x 1mm | N38

Neodymium Disc Magnet Product Description:

This Neodymium Rare Earth disc has a diameter of 20mm and a height of 1mm. Created from extremely strong N38 Neodymium magnetic material. Although this is one of our smaller disc magnets, it is extremely strong. It has a strong magnetic pull force of 1.1kg. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number 20018B.

Uses for our Neodymium Rare Earth Magnetic Discs:

These Neodymium discs have a super thin profile that makes them the perfect choice for discrete magnetic attachment. Uses for these rare earth disc magnets include crafts making, fridge magnets, clasps and in electronic devices.
Slim enough to be inserted inside fabric hems in order to provide an unobtrusive or invisible clasping or fitting system. Craftspeople making decorations or fridge magnets find these magnets particularly useful as their thin aspect does not intrude on the design itself. Epoxy Glue can also be used to attach the magnet to non-metallic surfaces.
These slender Rare Earth discs are also common components in many mechanical and electronic devices where their small size is advantageous. The wide surface area creates a secure hold that is resistant to displacement due to being knocked or bumped.

Excellent product.

These are the right size to use in the bases of the figurines of my knitted nativity. They stood well on top of the upright freezer.

I would take a photo but, as it is after Xmas, they are already packed away.

Quality Magnets worth the Cost

We use these magnets in the activity called Geocaching. When you need a magnet, I've found these types are worth the cost of have a quality magnet to keep the geocache in place, out of sight. The magnet seems to outlast the container and when the container is tired I can reuse the magnet. It is the thinness of these magnets that make them perfect for geocaching.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
