Neodymium Ring Magnet - 20mm (OD) x 12.7mm (H) x 4mm (ID)

Magnetic Product Description:

This Rare Earth ring magnet has an outside diameter of 20mm, an inside diameter of 4mm, and a height (or thickness) of 12.7mm. It has a pull force of 11.8 kilograms. It is identified by the AMF Magnetics part number 23014.

Uses for our Rare Earth Ring Magnets:

When designers and makers of wheels hear someone say, “We're not trying to re-invent the wheel here”, they beg to differ. Often with the assistance of neodymium ring 20mmx12.7mmx4mm magnets in their wheel, caster and roller assemblies, re-inventing the wheel is exactly what they are doing.

People keep inventing machines and equipment that needs to be moved safely and securely. When the first cave men and women stood around marvelling at the first circle chiselled from a lump of stone they could hardly have been expected to then turn their attention to creating casters for the giant sight screens at cricket stadiums; or super rollers for tunnel boring machines.

Wheels and castor wheels, (swivelling wheels to enhance stability) and rollers often engage ring magnets to assist in the smooth transit of people, goods and equipment. Huge tunnel boring machines and giant sight screens at cricket stadiums run along horizontal tracks using super strength casters or rollers often with the assistance of magnets of different types.

Hospital beds, office chairs, factory equipment, drum, tub and piano dollies, all require safe transit with the assistance of purpose built wheel, caster or roller assemblies. The type of wheel, castor or roller is determined by the size, weight and surface type the cargo will be travelling over.

Ring magnets, housed on the axle, rod or spool of some of these arrangements help control movement of weighty items with their predictable and intuitive hold and release force field. The engagement of magnets, including ring magnets, allows for a more controlled, smoother start and stop to the wheel assemblies reducing the risk of collisions or other accidents and increasing the durability of the assemblies themselves.

These powerful ring magnets are used widely in agriculture, construction, heavy engineering and shipping industries.
