Some companies and individuals make a living trying to anticipate the future. When they start the work day they check to make sure they have plenty of neodymium ring 30mmx23mmx8mm at hand.
Trying to anticipate how the future will look and operate often requires a forensic investigation of the present for clues to the future. Correctly anticipating future human needs and wants and the products and services that will best service them can generate serious rewards.
Many of these thinkers and ideas people use magnetised work walls in conjunction with ring magnets in the fledgling stage of an idea. These magnetised work walls together with ring magnets are used to assemble, rearrange, delete and re-introduce words, phrases, images and concepts. The ideas can be arranged in order of merit, chronology or expectation; or the other way around or a combination of all three, at a moments notice, with colleagues and stakeholders.
Counterintuitively perhaps, these designers for the digital age use a very old technology, a simple magnetised upgrade on the much maligned drawing board. ‘Go back to the drawing board’ has become a phrase of derision, an admission of failure. On the contrary, magnetised work walls, modern drawing boards, used in conjunction with ring magnets, is where a future is being mapped and navigated.
Good ideas can be fleeting. Elusive. Good ideas can be staring you in the face, but you cannot see them. A computer screen can help you develop an idea, but it cannot give you an original idea. Magnetised drawing boards and ring magnets hold ideas up, provide perspective, a different vision. Ring magnets are simple, nimble and quick enough to pin down good ideas and arrangements for capture. The ideas can be rearranged at a moments notice, on impulse, for a refinement, a development. Or cleared away in an instant entirely for a new approach.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
