Rare Earth Industrial Magnets

FAQ

What are Rare Earth industrial magnets used for?
Rare earth industrial magnets, primarily made from Neodymium or Samarium Cobalt, are used in heavy-duty applications that require exceptionally strong magnetic force. Common uses of these industrial magnets include magnetic separation systems, electric motors, sensors, lifting equipment, magnetic chucks and automation machinery across industries such as mining, manufacturing, electronics and renewable energy.

How strong are Rare Earth industrial magnets compared to other types?
Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnets available. Neodymium magnets, in particular, can be up to 10 times stronger than traditional Ferrite or Ceramic magnets. This makes Neodymium magnets ideal for high-performance industrial applications where compact size and powerful force are critical.

Are Rare Earth industrial magnets resistant to heat and corrosion?
Samarium Cobalt magnets offer excellent resistance to high temperatures and corrosion, making them suitable for harsh environments. Neodymium magnets, while stronger, are more prone to corrosion and may require coatings such as nickel, epoxy or zinc, especially in humid or wet conditions. For high-heat industrial applications, Samarium Cobalt is often the better choice.
