Home - Frequently Asked Questions - Self-Adhesive Magnetic Strips & Tape - Does the adhesive stick to walls?

Does the adhesive stick to walls?

The short answer is YES. The adhesive side of the magnetic tape uses high quality adhesive that will bond with painted timber, gyprock, tile, glass, steel, ceramic, plastic and most other flat, clean surfaces.

Rendered walls and undressed timber surfaces are not completely smooth or flat, so a lack of adhesion to these types of surfaces is to be expected. Cleaning the bonding surfaces thoroughly will enhance the prospects for good adhesion.

To overcome adhesion problems with porous or rough surfaces, more tape, longer tape or wider tape may help with adhesion issues or alternatively, a more robust type of adhesive such as Selleys Quick Grip or Liquid Nails may be required.
