This high-quality Rare Earth 5mm x 2mm Disc Magnet has its north pole marked for easy identification. This popular disc has a diameter of 5mm and a height of 2mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 3935 Gauss and a pull force of 430 grams. This Neodymium permanent magnet has a strong magnetic grading of N42. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number 20079E.


Uses for our Neodymium Rare Earth Disc Magnet:

Create bespoke walls with these Neodymium Disc Magnets. Companies making important marketing decisions or creating advertising campaigns often favour office partition walls with vitreous enamel magnetic low sheen whiteboard on one side and sound-absorbing pin board felt on the other. For arranging ideas or images on work walls these small magnets are versatile and compact. These magnets are extremely strong for their size with a magnetic grading of N42. They can hold various types of material that can weigh up to 430gm.
Disc magnets of this size are often used in arts and crafts as a fastener or for securing items to a metal surface. The marked pole allows for easy aligning with opposing magnets to create a variety of magnetic craft items such as jewellery, clothing and more.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
