Neodymium Disc Magnet – 9mm x 2mm | N48 Grade | Rare Earth Magnet | 1.19kg Pull Force
Experience maximum magnetic performance in a compact size with this Neodymium Disc Magnet (9mm x 2mm), engineered from powerful N48-grade rare earth material. Delivering an impressive magnetic flux of 2884 Gauss and a pull force of 1.19 kilograms, this disc magnet is ideal for high-precision, space-conscious applications across industries and DIY projects.
Product Code: D-D9H2-N48Bni
Dimensions: 9mm diameter x 2mm height
Magnetic Grade: N48
Coating: Black Nickel-Copper-Nickel
Magnetisation Direction: Axially magnetised (through the 2mm height)
Pull Force: 1.19 kg
Surface Gauss: 2884 Gauss
Key Applications & Benefits:
Strong Magnetic Hold: Despite its small size, the N48 grade provides a superior holding force, making it ideal for lightweight attachment, magnetic closures, and precision assembly.
Non-Invasive Bonding: Easily glue the magnet to non-metallic surfaces (like plastic or wood) for a secure connection to metal objects, or use opposing magnets to create a removable magnetic bond between two non-metallic items, perfect for model making, prototyping, and crafts.
Damage-Free Attachment: Magnetic fastening requires no drilling or screws, helping preserve surface integrity, ideal for home décor, displays, or concealed closures.
Industrial Strength in a Tiny Footprint: Favoured by automotive, and electronics manufacturers, these miniature magnets help reduce component weight while maintaining a reliable hold, crucial for modern, high-performance designs.
Whether you’re a professional engineer, creative hobbyist, or innovative manufacturer, the 9mm x 2mm N50 Neodymium Disc Magnet delivers powerful performance in a sleek, space-saving design.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
