Rubber Coated Male Thread Neodymium Pot Magnet D66mm x 8mm with Affixed 77mm L Hook
Organise tools, cables and workshop accessories with this rubber coated neodymium pot magnet with affixed heavy-duty L-shaped hook. Combining a 66mm diameter magnetic base, an 8mm body thickness and a 77mm-deep hook, it provides a removable hanging point on suitable steel and ferrous metal surfaces without drilling into the mounting surface.
AMF Magnetics part number: RCND66L.
The magnetic base contains six high-strength neodymium disc magnets within a steel pot assembly. The steel backing directs the magnetic field towards the contact surface, helping maximise magnetic holding performance in a compact design. A male threaded connection secures the affixed hook to the base.
Protective Rubber Coating and Practical Hook Design
The black rubber coating helps protect painted surfaces from direct metal contact and provides additional grip against sliding. The double-prong L-shaped hook features orange protective sleeves and upturned ends to help retain hanging items.
Easy to remove and reposition, this magnetic storage hook is a practical option for steel shelving, warehouse racking, cabinets and workshop equipment.
Applications for the Magnetic L Hook
-
Keeping hard hats and protective equipment within reach.
-
Organising coiled cables, leads and cords.
-
Hanging suitable hand tools and workshop accessories.
-
Creating movable storage points on steel cabinets and racking.
-
Improving organisation in garages, warehouses and commercial workspaces.
Magnetic Holding Performance
The magnetic base has a stated 18kg pull force. This rating refers to direct pull from a suitable steel surface and does not represent the hanging load capacity of the hook. Actual holding performance depends on steel thickness, surface condition, coatings, contact area and load position. Loads extending away from the surface create leverage, while vertical mounting introduces a risk of sliding, reducing the load the assembly can support.
For best results, attach the magnet to a clean, flat, sufficiently thick steel surface and check its grip with the intended load before use.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
