Neodymium Block Magnet - 50mm x 25mm x 12.7mm

Magnetic Product Description:

This block magnet has a length of 50mm, a width of 25mm and a thickness of 12.7mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 3957 Gauss and a pull force of 28.35 kilos against 5mm mild steel. It has the AMF magnet part number of 22006A.  A very strong magnet which needs care when handling, this magnet weighs approx 120 grams.

Uses for our rare earth block magnets:

Only about the size of a cigarette lighter, these magnets generate a permanent pull force of over thirty one kilograms of renewable energy. No wires, no batteries, no solar panel that has to follow the sun, no propeller poking out the top hoping to catch a passing breeze.

Just a good old fashioned magnetic force field. Like the magnetic force field of naturally occurring lodestone, stumbled over in ancient Greece two and a half thousand years ago. Today these magnets are super compressed to lock in all that magnetic goodness and given a nickel plated suit.

Very strong permanent neodymium magnets like these blocks are the future. Neodymium magnets are some of the youngest members of the magnet family (1980’s). Magnets are the youngest members of the fastening family. The fastening family includes some real old timers, like vegetable resins and horse hair, but even for screws and modern glues, magnets are proving too compatible with modern materials, especially plastics.

Every day, different sized and different strength magnets like these neodymium blocks are being chosen and then measured up by plastics fabricators across the world. Measured so moulded sockets can house magnets as fasteners in plastics fabrications too numerous to mention.

Tools, toys, trays, displays, decorations, department stores, shelving, storage and signage systems, vehicles, vacuums and vending machines. To name a few. Magnetic fastening allows these fabrications to be simply dismantled for servicing and cleaning, and just as easily restored. Try doing that with vegetable resin and horse hair.

For the removal of Ferrous contaminants, the manufacturing of mining related products, power generators, Magnetic cable holders and a variety of general purpose uses.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
