Neodymium Countersunk Ring Magnet – (OD) 15mm x (ID) Countersunk 3.2mm/6.7mm x (H) 2.05mm | N42
Product Code 93536
Pull Force* 0.8 kg
Grade N42
Coating NiCuNi
Magnetisation Direction Axially Magnetised Through Height, North Polarity on Countersunk Face
*Measured against up to 10mm mild steel.

This high-performance Neodymium Countersunk Ring Magnet measures 15mm outer diameter (OD), features a 3.2mm through-hole with a 6.7mm countersunk recess, and has a thickness of 2.05mm. Manufactured from premium N42-grade Neodymium (NdFeB) and finished with a durable nickel coating, this compact rare earth magnet delivers exceptional holding power relative to its size.

The countersunk design allows a flat-head screw to sit flush within the magnet, creating a neat, secure mounting solution for permanent or semi-permanent installations. Its slim profile makes it ideal for applications where space is limited but strong magnetic performance is required.

Key Features

Premium N42 Grade Neodymium Rare Earth Magnet.

Dimensions: 15mm OD x 3.2mm/6.7mm Countersunk ID x 2.05mm Thick.

Precision countersunk hole for flush screw mounting.

Strong magnetic holding force for its compact size.

Durable nickel-copper-nickel (NiCuNi) protective coating.

Slim, low-profile design.

Suitable for permanent installations and removable magnetic fixtures.

Approximate pull force of 800 grams.

Common Applications

Countersunk neodymium magnets are widely used across commercial, industrial, workshop, retail, and DIY projects where a powerful magnet needs to be securely fastened to a surface. Popular uses include:

Cabinet and cupboard door closures.

Magnetic catches and latches.

Signage and display mounting.

Retail point-of-sale fixtures.

Exhibition and trade show displays.

Workshop jigs and tool holders.

Furniture manufacturing and joinery.

Home organisation and storage systems.

Engineering prototypes and custom equipment.

Vehicle, caravan, and marine applications.

The countersunk hole enables direct screw fixing into timber, plastic, aluminium, or other non-ferrous materials, creating a clean and professional magnetic mounting solution.

Why Choose Neodymium Magnets?

Neodymium magnets are the strongest commercially available permanent magnets, offering significantly greater magnetic strength than ferrite magnets of the same size. Their superior power-to-weight ratio allows designers, manufacturers, and hobbyists to create compact magnetic assemblies without sacrificing performance.

Despite its small dimensions, this N42 neodymium countersunk ring magnet provides reliable magnetic holding force, making it an excellent choice for applications requiring a discreet yet powerful magnetic fixing point.

NB: Ranges are indicative for product category, please check individual products for specic values within that range.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
