Rare Earth (Neodymium) Disc Magnets

Neodymium Disc Magnets are extremely powerful due to the super-strong rare earth material that is used to produce them. Neodymium magnets are part of the Permanent Magnet group of magnets. The industrial-grade power of Neodymium material makes these magnets popular with customers who find them ideally suited to both small and commercial-scale applications. Disc-shaped magnets of all sizes are also widely sought after magnets due to the versatility and the wide scope of uses available to this type of flat, round shape. Neodymium disc magnets are thin and have a North and South pole on the opposite flat surfaces of the disc shape. Two magnets will attract to each other when the opposite poles are in proximity or repel when similar poles are present. The thin disc shape is easier to fit into low height locations and beneath other materials, or can otherwise be glued onto a surface without hindering how a product operates or significantly impacting its appearance. These unique and useful features make rare earth disc magnets popular with electronic manufacturers, high-end fashion designers and the designers of advanced technological products like electronics, drones and RPAs.

Rare Earth (Neodymium) Disc Magnets

Powerful, thin, lightweight Neodymium Disc Magnets are ideally suited to a range of modern consumer products. These products tend to have sleek lines and are usually very compact by design. Neodymium disc magnets are equally effective when used in hobby and DIY projects where their magnetic hold can be ten times stronger than the magnetic material used for typical household refrigerator magnets. If you have an interest in any type of hobby or craft, Neodymium disc magnets are a simple and innovative method of attachment that can be used to enhance your work or artistic project. Displaying artworks magnetically can be convenient and also give artworks a more contemporary feel. Read about the Magnart magnetic artwork display system in the  FAQ and Knowledge Base pages. Use epoxy glue to attach the disc magnet to any surface and make it compatible with metal. Similarly, two magnets with opposing poles can also be used in this way on different surfaces so they magnetically bond to each other without the need for any metal surface at all.

AMF Neodymium Disc Magnet Product Range

The strength of Neodymium magnetic products vary according to their size, shape and magnetic grade. All Neodymium magnets are manufactured in a particular magnetic grade. These magnetic grades range from N35 up to N52 Grade where the higher numbers represent a stronger magnetic material. Stronger, higher number grades mean more magnetic performance can be delivered by a rare earth disc magnet of the same size. Product designers use this variation of strength to make their products perform with greater accuracy. Information about the Grades for Neodymium magnets can be found in the FAQ and Knowledge Base section.

Neodymium Disc Magnet Protective Coatings

A range of coatings that are suitable for various applications and environmental conditions is available for some rare earth disc magnets. These coatings can include Nickel, Gold, Zinc, Epoxy, Plastic and Teflon. Read more about these Coatings and where to use them in the FAQ and Knowledge Base articles.

FAQs

Where to buy disc magnets?
AMF can help you find the right magnet for your application. Our magnetic products are all made from quality materials and sold at competitive prices. Our helpful sales team is always available for advice. Find the magnets or magnetic tools you need through our online store and purchase them with confidence at the secure checkout page with payment options. How strong are rare earth disc magnets?
Rare-earth Neodymium magnets are pound for pound the strongest of all magnetic materials and cannot be matched in terms of magnetic strength and holding ability. Even tiny Neodymium magnets can support many times their own weight. This means smaller magnets can be used to replace other types of larger and more bulky magnetic products without compromising strength or holding power. This in turn means lighter, smaller products can be designed without compromising their performance in any way.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
