Neodymium Disc Magnet - 4mm x 1mm | Gold Coating I N45

Magnetic Product Description:

This gold coated rare earth disc has a diameter of 4mm and a height of 1mm. It has a magnetic flux reading of 3062 Gauss and a pull force of 172 grams. Its AMF magnet part number is D-D4H1-N45AU.

Uses for our rare earth disc magnets:

This delicate but strong Gold Coated Neodymium Disc is one of our smallest magnets and appeals to those wanting a more refined appearance. Museums, galleries and exhibitors often choose these gold plated magnets as they add a more sophisticated element to a display. Craftspeople and hobbyists find this disc useful as a clasp and model fixing purposes. There are many functional benefits provided by the gold plating due to its unique properties including corrosion-resistance and thermal and electrical conduction. These properties make them suitable for many specialised applications such as componentry in electric devices that form part of security equipment including warning systems and monitoring devices.

Gold coated magnets are still susceptible to rust when exposed to the elements or damage from their environment. If you need to ensure that your gold magnet does not rust, you may want to consider applying a sealant which will extend the lifespan of the coating, but may reduce the pull force.

Great chatting with you Isidor. As discussed, although very strong in pull force, magnets are made from compressed powder so are also very brittle, particularly the thin 1mm magnets. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in selecting a more suitable magnet.
