Neodymium Pot Magnet with M6 Female Thread - D42mm x 20mm | Stainless Steel Coating

Neodymium Pot Magnet with M6 Female Thread – D42mm x 20mm | Stainless Steel Coating

The Neodymium Pot Magnet with M6 Female Thread – D42mm x 20mm combines a rated pull force of 68kg with a stainless steel-coated housing and a convenient threaded mounting point. Built around an N35 neodymium magnet, this rare earth pot magnet is suitable for removable fixtures, workshop mounting systems, signage and custom magnetic assemblies.

The circular pot measures 42mm in diameter x 9mm thick, with a raised female-threaded boss extending 11mm to give an overall height of 20mm. The boss has a 10mm outer diameter and an M6 internal thread for attaching compatible male-threaded fittings. The stainless steel coating covers the entire pot housing, including the base and raised boss.

M6 Female Thread for Flexible Mounting

Attach a compatible M6 bolt, hook, handle or bracket to create a magnetic mounting assembly suited to your application. The threaded connection secures your fitting to the magnet, while the magnetic face provides a removable attachment to a suitable steel surface.

Inside the housing, a 32mm diameter x 3.5mm thick N35 neodymium magnet supplies the magnetic attraction. The pot construction concentrates magnetic force towards the contact face, delivering strong holding performance in a compact footprint.

Key Features

  • Overall dimensions: 42mm diameter x 20mm height.

  • Pot housing dimensions: 42mm diameter x 9mm thick.

  • Threaded boss: 10mm outer diameter x 11mm high.

  • Mounting connection: M6 female thread.

  • Rated pull force: 68kg.

  • Internal magnet: 32mm diameter x 3.5mm thick.

  • Magnet grade: N35 neodymium rare earth.

  • Finish: Stainless steel coating across the entire pot housing.

Applications for M6 Female Thread Pot Magnets

Use this 42mm stainless steel-coated neodymium pot magnet for removable display fittings, workshop organisers, positioning jigs, equipment accessories and panel mounting. Its M6 female thread allows compatible fittings to be incorporated into assemblies that need a strong, repositionable magnetic connection.

Selection note: The 68kg pull force is a direct-pull rating, not a safe working load. Actual holding strength depends on steel thickness, surface condition, air gaps and load direction. Vertical mounting and sideways loading reduce holding capacity. Confirm usable thread depth before selecting your M6 fitting.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
