Neodymium Countersunk Pot Magnet – 120mm x 18mm | N35 | 480kg Pull Force
The Neodymium Countersunk Pot Magnet – 120mm x 18mm provides powerful magnetic holding for industrial mounting, workshop fixtures and custom assemblies. Featuring a Grade N35 neodymium magnet housed in a protective steel cup, this heavy-duty pot magnet has a rated pull force of 480kg.
Its 120mm diameter and 18mm height provide a broad contact face with a low-profile design. The steel housing helps protect the magnet and concentrates its magnetic field towards the holding face for attachment to suitable ferromagnetic steel surfaces.
Countersunk Mounting for a Recessed Fixing
The central mounting hole measures 12.5mm through the bore, widening to a 22.5mm countersink with a 90° angle. This accommodates a compatible countersunk fastener, allowing the head to sit recessed when correctly matched and installed. The magnet can be mechanically secured to a panel, bracket or fixture to create a removable magnetic connection with a suitable steel surface.
Key Features
-

Applications for the 120mm Countersunk Pot Magnet
This large neodymium pot magnet can be incorporated into machinery fixtures, removable access panels, workshop jigs, industrial displays and custom mounting systems. Choose it where a screw-mounted magnetic fixing and a large contact area suit the application.
Understanding the 480kg Pull Force
The rated pull force refers to a direct pull perpendicular to a suitable steel surface under test conditions. It is not a safe working load or a vertical hanging capacity. Actual holding strength depends on steel thickness and grade, surface contact, paint or coatings, air gaps and the direction of the load. Test the complete assembly under its intended operating conditions before use.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
